Welsh superstar Gareth Bale is being linked with a move back to Tottenham Hotspur. The potential transfer is being touted around by a few Spanish media outlets. The winger joined Real Madrid in 2013 from Tottenham. He is apparently going to be the North London side’s marque signing for their entrance into the new stadium. Since leaving Spurs, Bale has gone onto win one La Liga title, one Copa Del Rey as well as three Champions League trophies with a potential fourth this season. with the Spanish giants being favourites for the upcoming final against Liverpool, in Kiev.
A Tottenham Return for Gareth Bale?
Gareth Bale arrived at the Bernabeu as a world-record signing back in the summer of 2013. The £89 million fee eclipsed the fee the Spanish side had paid Manchester United for Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo. Five years on and Bale is no longer first choice for Los Blancos. It is widely believed that he will be allowed to leave in the upcoming summer transfer window. Bale had a hugely successful period at Tottenham where he was transformed from a left back into one of the most feared attacking midfielders in world football. At Spurs, he won two PFA Player of the Year awards and one PFA Young player of the Year award.
The Comeback of Gareth Bale
In recent years Gareth Bale has suffered from various injury problems. These injuries have hindered his form and limited his game time in Madrid. Any potential deal would be a big risk for the North London side. However, a player of Bale’s calibre when fit could be the thing that tips the Lilywhites from a nearly club into winners. Before he left, Gareth Bale carried a very average Tottenham team then managed by Andre Villas-Boas. If Bale can get anywhere near that form alongside the likes of Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Christain Eriksen then Spurs may finally end the trophy drought and turn their potential into tittles.
