Football League Transfer News
Ayew Brothers to Leave Swansea
Ayew brothers Andre and Jordan look set to leave Swansea City. Andre is due to have a medical at Fenerbahce ahead of season-long loan deal. The forward has had a disappointing second spell at the Liberty Stadium. He rejoined in January but failed to score. The deal with Fenerbahce also includes the option to make the deal permanent.
Jordan Ayew also could be about to leave. It has been reported that Leicester City have opened talks over a transfer. Fulham have recently had a £8 million bid rejected, with Swansea holding out for £12 million. The Foxes seem willing to match his valuation as manager Claude Puel looks to spend the £60 million received for Riyad Mahrez. Liverpool and Celtic are also believed to be interested; however, Leicester now appear to be favourites.
Joe Bryan to West Ham?
Bristol City are bracing themselves for bids from a host of clubs, including West Ham, for defender Joe Bryan. The full-back has one year left on his contract.
Clubs from the Premier League, Championship and the Bundesliga are reportedly interested. City are keen to keep hold of Bryan but with interest hotting up, this could prove difficult. As well as West Ham, Wolves, Middlesbrough, Leeds and several German clubs are monitoring the 24-year-old.
Sinclair Signs for Sunderland
Sunderland boss Jack Ross has finally made a breakthrough in his bid to recruit strikers. Jerome Sinclair has arrived at the Stadium of Light on a season-long loan deal from Watford. The 21-year-old becomes the eighth new signing for the Black Cats. The pacy striker who can also play on either wing has also had spells with Liverpool, Wigan and Birmingham.
Sharp and Baldock on Cats Radar
Sunderland are still looking to strengthen their forward line. The latest to be linked are Billy Sharp and Sam Baldock. Sharp could be made available by Sheffield United if, as expected, they bring in a new striker of their own. Sharp is proven goalscorer at League One and Championship level. He scored 51 goals for the Blades over two seasons in League One recently. If a deal is made it is likely to be a loan deal.
Brighton striker Sam Baldock is also interesting Sunderland. The 29-year-old is available and the Black Cats are willing to pay £1 million for his services. Baldock is another who has experience in League One. He scored 24 goals for Bristol City during the 2013/14 season. Reading are also reportedly interested in Brighton’s forgotten man.
Belgian on Trial at United
Scunthorpe United have taken former Sheffield United and Walsall midfielder Florent Cuvelier on trial. The former Stoke City youngster was released by Walsall at the end of last season following time out with an injury. Cuvelier played for Scunthorpe in their 1-0 friendly defeat by Nottingham Forest.
Carlisle Keen on Gerrard
Carlisle United are believed to be keen on signing defender Anthony Gerrard from Oldham. Current United and former Oldham manager John Sheridan wants an experienced defender and Gerrard fits the bill.
The 32-year-old is still under contract at Oldham, therefore, a financial deal would need to be agreed. The defender is the cousin of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.
Bury Sign Stoke City Striker
Striker Dominic Telford has signed for Bury on a two-year deal. The 21-year-old arrives on a free transfer. Telford spent last season on loan at League One side Bristol Rovers. He made 24 appearances, scoring six goals.
