Fulham Sign Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa
Zambo Anguissa will join the Cottagers on a reported four-year deal after spending the last three seasons with Marseille. The 6″0′ defensive-midfielder had become a full-fledged member of the Marseille starting eleven over the last few seasons and has also become a major defensive force for the current African Nations Cup champions, Cameroon.
Known currently for his excellent ability in defence, the 22-year old will likely still improve over the next few seasons. However, despite his young age, Zambo Anguissa is already an extremely strong and powerful player and definitely suited to the far more physical English game.
Despite these areas of strength, the young Cameroonian does have room to improve. Namely, these areas include passing and control while in possession. However, what he lacks in his on the ball ability, Zambo Anguissa does make up for it in his extremely strong defensive game.
Likely to take over a role that will see him play in front of the Cottagers back line, look for Zambo Anguissa to serve mostly as a fifth defender early in his career. However, over time, one can definitely expect for Zambo Anguissa to both improve his attacking game while also expanding his potential role in the Fulham midfield.
Zambo Anguissa joins Fulham’s impressive summer transfer haul which also includes midfielder Jean Michael Seri, forwards André Schürrle and Aleksandar Mitrović, and centre backs Alfie Mawson and Calum Chambers.
