Latest on Abdoulaye Doucoure, Ramsey, Gabbiadini and Medel
Doucoure Wanted by PSG
Paris Saint Germain have reportedly opened talks with Watford over midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure. The 25-year-old Frenchman has become one of the Premier League’s top players and is also wanted by Everton. PSG are understood to be willing to pay £30 million; however, Watford want closer to £45 million.
The Hornets star signed a new five-year deal in the summer but this has not put off interested parties. Doucoure joined Watford in 2016 and has scored ten goals in 81 appearances. London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal were reportedly interested but it now appears that if Watford do sell, he would have to choose between a move to France or link up with his old boss Marco Silva at Everton.
French Giants Chasing Ramsey
PSG are also ready to open talks to sign Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey. The Welshman is free to talk to interested clubs from next month as his current contract runs out next summer. With Arsenal unwilling to renew his contract, Ramsey will begin his search for a new club. He may not be short of options too. Along with PSG, Juventus and Bayern Munich are believed to be interested.
PSG, however, could be willing to pay to have Ramsey join during the next window. A bid of over £9 million could be submitted in an attempt to beat other clubs to his signature. They are also willing to offer Ramsey an 18-month contract. The 28-year-old has played 350 games for the Gunners, scoring 59 goals since joining from Cardiff in 2008.
Gabbiadini to Leave Southampton?
Manolo Gabbiadini’s stay at Southampton could soon be over. The Italian had an explosive start to his time on the south coast but has failed to convince since. Gabbiadini scored six goals in his first four games after signing in January 2017 and looked a bargain at £14.6 million. However, since then, the striker has added just six more goals.
Sides in Italy, including Fiorentina and Bologna, and also Russian teams CSKA Moscow and Spartak Moscow, are reportedly interested. If Gabbiadini is to leave St Mary’s, then it is believed that he would prefer a move back to his native Italy.
Hammers Want Medel
West Ham have failed with a £6.5 million bid for Chilean midfielder Gary Medel. His current club, Besiktas, are in desperate need of funds but are still unwilling to sell on the cheap. West Ham want to add a tough, experienced midfielder to their squad and see Medel as an ideal signing. However, United will have to up their bid if they wish to land the 31-year-old.
The experienced Chile international played for Cardiff City during the 2013/14 season. However, he was sold to Inter Milan after the club were relegated. The Hammers are keen to seal the transfer sooner rather than later, therefore an increased bid is expected in the coming days.
