Mauro Icardi has been going through a lot of drama lately. He is struggling to reach a contract agreement with Inter Milan and was also stripped of his captaincy. The player is disappointed with the situation surrounding him and many reports suggest he is likely to leave his club during the summer. Many clubs are interested in his signature as his future is uncertain.

Conflict

Icardi’s time with the Nerazzurri has been good, though he went through many tough times. Not long after he joined the club, the Argentine started a conflict with the Inter fans. The supporters boycotted the decision to make the striker the captain and Icardi also had harsh words to say about the fans, especially the ultras group, Curva Nord Inter. This conflict continued for a short period of time but Icardi’s great performances influenced the fans and they started to support him.

Later into his Inter career, Icardi became an icon for the club. He scored 122 goals and assisted 26 in 210 appearances for Il Biscione. He is greatly relied on when needed in crucial games. The 26-year-old has left a mark on the club. However, the possible end to his Inter career might not be a happy one.

Speculation

Icardi is currently injured and is expected to be fit by the seventh of March. In previous games, the former Barcelona man refused to play games because of his unhappiness. Inter are aware of the current dilemma and are targeting many top strikers around Europe to replace Icardi. The attacker also attracts interest from elite clubs who are willing to spend a lot of money to sign him.

The situation of Mauro Icardi is tearing Inter apart. A lot of speculation revolves around the whole squad and it is negatively affecting the team’s relationship. Although the player is still open to signing a new deal in order to remain in Milan, he and his agent expect a lucrative offer. Wanda Nara, the wife and agent of Icardi, is asking for a high wage for her husband. If Inter are not able to match the wage demands, the former Sampdoria man could find a club that is willing to do so.
