Football League Transfer Rumours: Fulham, Stoke City, Fleetwood Town and Leeds United
Liverpool set to Sign Fulham Hot Prospect
Jake Polden of the Mirror is reporting that Liverpool have agreed a deal for Fulham wonderkid Harvey Elliott. Some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain were reportedly interested. However, it appears that the Reds have won the race.
Elliott is still only 16 years old, yet has already played for Fulham’s first team. The young star became the youngest player to appear for Fulham when at 15 years and 174 days he played in their Carabao Cup win over Millwall last season. He then became the Premier League’s youngest player when at 16 years and 30 days he played against Wolves.
Elliott is very highly rated and is expected to have a bright future. Fulham wanted him to stay at Craven Cottage and offered him a scholarship. However, the teen sensation appears to be keen to move to Merseyside and continue his development at Liverpool. Fulham are expected to receive a huge compensation package when the transfer is finalised.
Stoke City Transfer Rumours: Latest on Butland and Baldock
Stoke City are interested in Sheffield United defender George Baldock. According to Ritchie Boon of The Star, City have identified Baldock as the man they want in their defence. City face stiff competition, however. Scottish champions Celtic are also believed to be interested. The promise of European football could be a huge difference maker should he leave Sheffield.
Sky Sports News reports that the deal to sell Jack Butland to Aston Villa is off. City value the keeper at £25 million and are not prepared to lower that figure. It appears that Villa are not prepared to meet the valuation; therefore, the deal appears to be dead. Butland has made it clear he wants to return to the Premier League. However, unless a club meets Stoke’s valuation, he could be playing Championship football once again next season.
Ipswich Town Chase Irish Defender
Andy Warren of the East Anglian Daily Times, claims Ipswich are interested in Cameron Dummigan. The 23-year-old currently plays in the League of Ireland for Dundalk. He has also played for Burnley and Oldham. The right-back, who can play anywhere across the defence, is also attracting interest from several other Football League clubs.
Leeds Submit Bid for Zagreb Star
Ian Mitchelmore of Wales Online is reporting that Leeds have made an offer for Ivan Sunjic. Sunjic is a 22-year-old midfielder who currently plays for Dinamo Zagreb. It is understood that United have bid £3.5 million for the Croatia international.
Zagreb have no interest in selling at such a low offer for their star man. Even if Leeds up their offer, they would still need to convince the player to play in England’s second tier.
