Transfer Round-Up

Antoine Griezmann Officially Unveiled By Barcelona

Barcelona officially announced the signing of French striker Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid. Last week it was reported that the transfer had been completed.

Griezmann has spent the past five seasons at Atletico Madrid, becoming a key figure under manager Diego Simeone. Last season he scored 21 goals in all competitions.

However, Atletico Madrid are still disputing the transfer. According to Jason Burt of The Telegraph, Atletico believe that they are due more than £107.5 million that the Catalan club have paid for Griezmann. As a result, they are threatening to take legal action.

Sheffield United Break Transfer Record Once Again This Summer

Sheffield United have smashed their transfer record for the second time this summer. They have completed the signing of Callum Robinson from Preston North End.

After two successful loan spells, Preston completed a permanent move for Robinson in the summer of 2016. He made 110 appearances during his time at Deepdale, scoring 28 goals.

He is the third player to make the move to Bramall Lane this summer. Manager Chris Wilder has already sealed the signings of Luke Freeman and Phil Jagielka.

Second Striker Through The Door At Millwall

Millwall have confirmed the signing of Icelandic striker Jon Bodvarsson from fellow Championship club Reading.

Bodvarsson struggled during the 2018/19 campaign for Reading. He scored just six goals in 20 appearances, as the Royals narrowly avoided relegation.

He is the second striker to sign for Millwall this summer, following the arrival of Matt Smith. They replace Lee Gregory and Steve Morison, who have both left the club.
