Latest European Transfer Rumours
Dani Alves Seeks Barcelona Return With Neymar In Tow
Jack Otway of Express reports that Dani Alves wants to return to the Nou Camp this summer, bringing Neymar with him. The Brazilian pair left Catalonia two years ago for Paris Saint-Germain. And now both are being linked with returns to the Spanish Champions. Neymar’s future remains unclear after going AWOL from training and expressing a desire to leave Paris. Alves, on the other hand, has just seen out his contract with the French side, now a free agent.
Alves claims Barcelona to be ‘his home’ and wants to return eventually. He believes Neymar’s return would pave the way for his own, as the pair are close friends.
Niko Kovacs Confident of Landing Leroy Sané
According to Daniel Murphy of Manchester Evening News, Bayern Munich manager, Niko Kovacs, is ‘confident’ of signing Leroy Sané. The German winger is a long-term target of the Bavarian side and is one of the stories of the summer.
Bayern want to rejuvenate their squad, after a disappointing Champion’s League campaign, and a near-miss in the Bundesliga. Having seen Franck Ribéry and Arjen Robben leave, they are desperate for reinforcements on the wings. However, Pep Guardiola would like to see Sané stay, putting a huge £90 million price tag on his head.
Blaise Matuidi Wants United Move
Rhys Daly of Express writes that Blaise Matuidi is pining for a move to Manchester United this summer. The arrivals of Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot have pushed Matuidi further down the pecking order at Juventus. As such, he is willing to leave the club in order to find more first-team opportunities.
United, too, are interested in new midfield options and are admirers of the French midfielder. Any move to United, though, could hinge on the departure of Paul Pogba, who remains linked with a move to Real Madrid or Juventus. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could turn to Matuidi if Pogba’s much-touted move finally comes to fruition. He could also be a cheaper option than another of United’s transfer targets…
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic Transfer Rumours
According to Jake Lambourne of The Sun, Manchester United have a ‘verbal agreement’ with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. United have held talks with the Serbian’s agent and are willing to offer him a five-year contract at Old Trafford. Though like Matuidi, this move is reliant on Pogba departing the club, given the large financial cost it would take.
Milinkovic-Savic reportedly told teammates he would be leaving this summer. He struggled last season with Lazio, scoring seven goals as they finished eighth in Serie A. A move is what he desires, to fulfil his wish of playing in the Champion’s League, as he sees United as more likely to qualify in the future.
