Trabzonspor Transfer Almost Complete For Daniel Sturridge
From England To Turkey
The former England international has been pictured in Turkey ahead of signing for Trabzonspor.
29-year-old Sturridge was released by Liverpool this summer, ending a six-year spell at Anfield.
During his time with the Reds, Sturridge scored 67 goals from 160 appearances.
The former England international spent six months on loan at Bolton. Across four years in London, Sturridge made just 63 appearances and scored 13 times. Sturridge signed for Liverpool in January 2013 before being released this summer.
In July, Sturridge was banned from football for two weeks and fined £75,000 after being found guilty of breaching betting rules.
He was given a six-week ban, four of which were suspended, and returned to playing on 31 July.
Aston Villa Target
Following his release from Anfield, Sturridge has been linked with a move to Villa Park.
Birmingham Live reported that Sturridge’s upbringing in the Midlands could see him sign for Aston Villa.
The former England international was part of Villa’s academy set-up before joining Coventry City aged eleven and later Manchester City.
Among reported interest from Aston Villa, free agent Sturridge also reportedly had offers from Real Betis, Marseille and Bologna.
The interest from across Europe, 13 sides were reportedly interested, show the high levels of respect and admiration for Sturridge.
Despite facing injuries and lack of playing time, many sides are still keen to give the 29-year-old an opportunity in hope of him getting back to his former self.
