Transfer Rumours: Manchester United, Real Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan

Manchester United Eye Return for Zlatan

According to Daniel Davis of Mail Online, Manchester United are in contact with Zlatan Ibrahimovic over a return to Old Trafford. The Swedish striker left United for the MLS in 2018, but his contract is up in the new year. Now, two years later, he could return to the Premier League. The Red Devils will certainly be desperate for more reinforcements up front, as they look to push into European contention.

Real Madrid and Juventus Set to Compete Again For Haaland

Jairo Izquierdo of El Desmarque reports that Real Madrid are prepared to battle with Juventus again in the transfer window; this time, their target is Norwegian striker Erling Haaland. Apart from his six goals in the Champions League this season, Haaland has also scored 16 goals in 13 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga for Red Bull Salzburg. His form this year has seen him become one of football’s most sought-after talents. After joining the Austrian team for €5 million last January, he could now be worth as much as €100 million.

Tottenham Set Sights on Ziyech

If Tom Gott of 90min is correct, Tottenham are ready to sign Hakim Ziyech as a replacement for Christian Eriksen, who many expect to leave next summer. Spurs are willing to accept reasonable offers in January to avoid losing the Danish midfielder for nothing. One name high on their list to replace him is Hakim Ziyech, one of the stars for Ajax’s amazing season last year; he scored 21 goals and registered 24 assists for the Dutch side, as they came within seconds of a Champions League final. His scintillating form has continued into this season, scoring six goals and contributing 14 assists already. There is no doubt that he could help propell the North London outfit.

Inter Milan Target Mertens

According to Calcio Mercato’s sources, Inter Milan are targeting a few Serie A stars on free transfers. Their main target is Dries Mertens, currently of Napoli, but whose recent contract talks have stalled. Apart from the enigmatic Belgian, Inter are also eyeing Thomas Meunier and Layvin Kurzawa of Paris Saint-Germain. All three targets have contracts expiring next summer, and Inter Milan could be a very busy club come summer.
