England Dealt Friendly Draw

Due to England being a host nation, Gareth Southgate’s side were automatically drawn into Group D.

England will face well-known opposition in Croatia in their first game of Euro 2020. It as Croatia who broke England’s hearts at the 2018 World Cup, after a Mario Mandzukic winner in extra-time booked their place in the final. However, England found their revenge in the UEFA Nations League, sending Croatia out in the final group game.

The third team drawn into Group D was yet another familiar face. England will face Czech Republic in Group D, after facing them in the qualifying stages. Gareth Southgate’s side thrashed them 5-0 the first time around, but were defeated away from Wembley 2-1 by the Czech Republic.

England will then have to wait until March to find out their final group opponents. As a result of the draw, the final group member will be decided by a play-off.

Scotland are one of the sides in play-off path C. They will have to beat Israel first, before potentially facing either Norway or Serbia.

Germany will face both France and Portugal in the Group Stage of Euro 2020. The winner of Play-off path A was also placed in this group. As a result, this could be one of Iceland, Romania, Bulgaria or Hungary.
