Transfer Rumours: Paul Pogba, Donny van de Beek, Edinson Cavani and Ousmane Dembele

Paul Pogba Determined Over Madrid Move

According to Jaime Candil of AS (via L’Équipe), Paul Pogba is adamant that he will join Real Madrid next summer. The French midfielder, currently out with an ankle injury, wants his future resolved before the European Championships next summer. Any deal arranged afterwards would depend on him remaining injury-free during the tournament. With his contract up in 2021, he may force Manchester United’s hand, as they would not want to lose him for free. As such, United may have to lower their asking price from the previous €150million.

Tottenham Attempt to Battle Real Over Dutch Talent

As sources from FourFourTwo report, Tottenham Hotspur will have to compete with Real Madrid again for the signature of Donny van de Beek. Both sides held interest in the Dutch midfielder over the summer, but neither got a deal over the line. Now, with Christian Eriksen set to leave next summer, José Mourinho wants to plug the side’s creative hole. However, with Madrid still interested, his favoured destination, any move from Tottenham could be futile.

Chelsea Spree to Follow Ban Appeal?

Buoyed by the news of their successful appeal, Chelsea may now enjoy a spending spree in the next transfer window. According to Matt Hughes of the Daily Mail, Chelsea have Ben Chilwell, Wilfried Zaha and Jadon Sancho high on their shortlist. However, the nature of their targets means that any moves could be difficult, with clubs unwilling to sell, especially in January.

However, one deal that could happen in January is Chelsea’s approach for Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele. The London side have reportedly met with the Frenchman’s representatives, as per John Hutchinson of the Sun. Dembele has not enjoyed his time in Barcelona since joining two years ago for €138 million. Now, he could be on the move again, in search of more regular first-team football. With Pedro and Willian on the way out and Chelsea looking for a new winger, this could be the perfect match.

Cavani to Bolster Atlético Attack?

As Moises Llorens and Julien Laurens of ESPN write, Atlético Madrid have their sights on Edinson Cavani in January. The Uruguayan striker has fallen out of favour at Paris Saint-Germain and his contract runs out next summer. The French champions reportedly won’t attempt to extend it, and he will seek greener pastures. Injuries and the arrival of Mauro Icardi have seen Cavani pushed down the pecking order in Paris. Having only started three of their 21 games this season, Atlético could swoop in January. However, the Spanish side also consider Timo Werner a good option.

Liverpool to Seek New Attacker if Brewster Leaves on Loan

Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Liverpool will look to bring in a new striker if Rhian Brewster leaves the club on loan in January. The German told Liverpool Echo that Brewster is a striker he rates highly and a loan could be essential for his development. Yet, he will still want another striker to boost his squad numbers should Brewster leave.

Palace to Return for Fabio Borini

As Jack Rosser of the Evening Standard writes, Crystal Palace have made contact over a move for AC Milan striker Fabio Borini. Roy Hodgson wanted a new striker in the summer, in addition to the permanent signing of Jordan Ayew. The Italian’s contract in Italy is up in the summer, and Palace see him as an ideal goal-getter. He would also count towards their homegrown player count, having come through the ranks at Chelsea.
