United in Search of a Striker

Although the Coronavirus has hit the footballing world hard, transfer rumours are still coming in thick and fast, and lots of developments have happened recently regarding Barcelona’s interest in Lautaro Martinez. Mundo Deportivo in Spain claims that the Catalan giants are closer than ever to signing the Argentine striker. Should this deal go ahead, Inter Milan would look for a replacement, and United centre-forward Anthony Martial is high up on their list.

Martial has impressed this season. His goal-scoring form has been good, but he has also helped others, with a positive influence on Marcus Rashford. The Englishman was a shadow of his usual self during Martial’s hamstring injury in September, but following his return, Rashford suddenly got back to his characteristically fantastic form.

Martial would be a great addition to Inter’s side, especially to play alongside former team-mate Romelu Lukaku, and would be another United player to join Antonio Conte’s men, with Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez and Ashley Young having made the move in the past year.

Should the 24-year-old leave Old Trafford, the Red Devils would look for a suitable replacement. Kane is on their shortlist.

Kane‘s Comments Talking to Jamie Redknapp

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp recently discussed ambitions with Harry Kane.

When asked about his intentions regarding staying at Tottenham Hotspur for his whole career, the Englishman said that he wants to be one of the best players in the world, and should Spurs prohibit him from doing so, he would look elsewhere.

“It’s one of those things, I couldn’t say yes, I couldn’t say no. I love Spurs, I’ll always love Spurs. But it’s one of those things – I’ve always said if I don’t feel we’re progressing as a team or going in the right direction, then I’m not someone to just stay there for the sake of it,” he said.

“It all depends on what happens as a team and how we progress as a team. So it’s not a definite I’m going to stay there forever – but it’s not a no either.”
