Manchester United Considering Shock Paul Pogba Move Amid Real Madrid’s Latest Offer
Not Living up to the Hype at United
Paul Pogba has not lived up to the hype at Manchester United since re-joining them in 2016.
Having gone through their academy, the Frenchman swapped Manchester for Turin, joining Juventus when his contract expired in the summer of 2012.
While there, Pogba turned into a world-class midfielder, exuding quality and class into Juve’s midfield.
He attracted a lot of attention from around Europe during his four years in Italy, with Real Madrid among the many huge clubs wanting to sign him. However, Pogba ended up choosing Manchester United, re-joining his boyhood club, and with one of the most decorated managers in the world at the helm; Jose Mourinho.
Although it seemed that Pogba, having arrived for a then world-record fee of £89 million, would have an incredible impact on the United squad, that was not the case.
The Frenchman has struggled to establish a run of good form since his return to England.
His relationship with Mourinho, who was sacked at the end of 2018, was not a healthy one, and that could only hurt his progress.
Pogba’s attitude did not seem to be top quality either, and the output on the pitch was no better.
Although last season, the 27-year-old started to show why the Red Devils paid so much for him, seemingly preferring Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in charge, this season he has not been able to build on that, with an ankle injury reducing him to just eight appearances this campaign.
James Rodriguez Linked With Manchester United Again
Rumours of Rodriguez joining United are nothing new.
The Columbian, who joined Real Madrid after an excellent 2014 World Cup, has never reached his world-class potential and has been linked with United for a number of years. Now, they seem to be seriously considering the offer, and Pogba could get his long-awaited move to the Spanish capital.
