Dortmund’s Plan

Zorc explained how the club will move for different targets in the case of Sancho leaving the club. The Bundesliga transfer window opens on October 5.

Zorc said: “Should Jadon leave, we would go into the offensive again. There are certainly one or two players that we have our sights on.”

However, BVB Managing Director, Hans-Joachim Watzke, acknowledged the club will expect a hike in price for Sancho if they sell the 20-year-old this summer.

Also speaking to Kicker, he said: “If we give up Sancho, each player we are interested in will be five to ten million euros more expensive than the week before. we have nothing to give away.

“If he stays with us, then he stays and this is what we wish for from a sporting perspective.”

If Sancho departs during the upcoming transfer window, BVB will certainly make a profit on the £8 million they paid Manchester City for the forward in 2017. The club set an asking price between €120-€130 million for the England international according to ESPN and Bild.

Interest in Sancho

Sancho’s current contract expires in 2022 and the English forward continues to attract interest from a host of top European clubs.

The 20-year-old made a slow start to his Dortmund career, scoring just 14 goals in his first 53 appearances in all competitions.

But his improvement for Dortmund this season accelerated. He scored 20 goals and made 20 assists in 44 appearances in all competitions.

This rise in form this season caused long-standing interest from a number of clubs. Manchester United continue to be the main club linked with Sancho. Although no club has moved for the English forward yet.
